Have you seen what Walgreen’s has now? They are shaped like Mickey Mouse. They produce a lot of air. They have three messages to entertain you while you feel relief from the summer sun. They are Mickey Mouse fans! I am a fan! You would expect to pay a lot for these, but they are $6 at Walgreen’s. Go! Go NOW!
Hot Hubby and I have combined our families and now are juggling 7 children and 10 grandchildren. Fortunately or unfortunately, they are spread out across the world, so we can only have them in small groups. Our Christmas vacation was filled with my daughters and parents. Whenever I get a group together, I only have one goal. A good group picture.
Now, I am known for making my children pose and pose and pose, until I take the perfect picture. But they are getting smarter and more resilient in their resistance. Hot Hubby has taken on their resistance and only guarantees 10 smiles. On Christmas Eve, we had a gloriously sunny day and headed to our local park/mountain for a photo session. We used a tripod and posed in multiple settings. The best picture was taken at the last minute, when we quickly jumped out of the car and had a stranger take the shot. All of that posing and planning for nothing.
I find that the best pictures are the spontaneous ones. Which do you think turned out best? Do you have any advice for capturing a crowd?
If I haven’t mentioned it before, I love Mickey Mouse. I have tried to be subtle, but I have Mickey in every room of my house. And I like to have “hidden” Mickey’s in places that you might not expect. The way I think, you can never have too many Mickey Mouses. When Hot Hubby first moved in, he would take pictures of the Mickey Mouses and send them to his kids. I guess the Mickeys might be a little more than subtle?
Hot Hubby and I are a perfect match, because he has a forest green thumb and mine is black and dying. His amazing abilities have turned my barely surviving plants into flowering window gardens. Who knew, from the two dying leaves, that they were even flowers available?
Yesterday, Hot Hubby came into the kitchen carrying a Mickey Mouse item and asked, “How does this water gage work?” I studied the out of ink pen, that I had stuck into an artificial plant. I said, “It is a broken pen.” He started laughing. Hot Hubby then explained that he has been watering the artificial plant for months now, but was stumped by its lack of progress. What a loving man, to even take care of my artificial plants.
Do you have any favorite items in unusual places?
