Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901. He has made an impact on so many industries, cities, states and countries. I wonder if he had any idea what Mickey Mouse would become when he drew a simple cartoon.
In honor of Walt Disney’s birthday I am going to remind you of the speech at the opening of Disneyland in 1955. It was the day a dreammaker got to fulfill a personal dream and open his very own theme park. Here’s the dedication speech:
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past…and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America…with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
Happy Birthday Walt, you made the world a better place.
